The Book of John

 

“O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!”
~  Isaiah 40:9

 

The Book of John – specifically, its focus on the person of the Lord Jesus Christ is that of presenting Him as not only the long-promised Messiah but, also as God-in-the-flesh as prophesied in the book of Isaiah (see above).

 

The basis of much misunderstanding and doctrinal misapplication; the seeming points of confusion for the modern Bible believer quickly disappear when the book is studied both doctrinally and dispensationally.  For instance, in John 1:29 – John The Baptist says, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” Doctrinally and historically, Christ’s sacrifice for sin was not yet known! (The sacrifice for “sin” or atonement under the Law of Moses was a goat.)
